I set a goal for 2016 to read at least 1 book per month. I was able to read 2 in March so yay me! If you’re looking for a recommendation check out the details below.
Someday, Someday Maybe by Lauren Graham – For those of you who, like me, have been obsessed with Gilmore Girls and Parenthood than you know who Lauren Graham is. In her debut novel she tells the story of a twenty-something wannabe actress in NYC. It was a fast funny read that made you truly care about the main character, Franny, and her many escapades. As I read I kept picturing the main character as Sutton Foster (see Bunheads, Younger) because she and Lauren seem to have a similar style. This would be a great beach book!
Once We Were Brothers by Ronald H. Balson – This book tells the story of a Jewish family profoundly impacted by the horrors of World War II. It focuses on the life of Ben Solomon and his former best friend turned Nazi. The book was an emotional investment that caused laughter, tears, and a great amount of outward sympathy. Although the story is fictional the author did a great deal of historical research and the stories portrayed in the novel were likely experienced by many individuals and families in Europe during the war.
